Strange But True Life Funny Stories

Even Turkeys Go To Church!

We were just starting our Sunday evening Service and everyone was anticipating worshipping the Lord together. We had been Pastoring for about 3 months, so things were still relatively new. As worship was underway, I had just started the worship music, and we kept hearing a knock on the metal back door of the sanctuary. Knowing how dark it was out back, and wondering who it was knocking on the door, I grabbed a microphone stand and proceeded to walk toward the exit, (thinking to myself that if some ‘unwanted’ guest were at the door, they wouldn’t ‘stand’ a chance, lol). My husband charged for the door and opened it before I could get there. Just then, he started laughing hysterically. I looked out too and saw almost 30 turkeys running around. The turkeys were pecking on the metal door . . . everyone laughed and couldn’t’ stop. The title of my next sermon was, ‘Even Turkeys Go To Church’.

Shhh... this is a Pentecostal Church

Being new Pastors here at Family Life Church, everyone was trying to get used to the idea that their Pastor retired (and because we were newly Pastoring). The people were all very introverted and quiet, making this transition a little hard.
I was feeling a little under the weather that day, but Church went on as usual. During prayer time, my husband asked if there was anyone sick and in need of prayer. I thought to myself, “I could use some prayer right now”.
Understand that in our home Church, people prayed for someone and all agreed in one accord for that person’s healing, and prayed with everything they have.
I walked to the ‘already’ quiet pulpit area and raised my hands to be prayed for. As my husband was praying, and because the people were not very outward in their prayers, I thought, “Wow, it’s really quiet, are people praying for me?” Just then, over in the corner of the sanctuary, one little lonely cricket chirped … I laughed so hard, I think it instantly healed me.
